Privacy Policy

Splitz is a tool for splitting shared expenses between people who already know each other. This policy explains what it stores and why. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

What is collected

What is not collected

Who can see your data

Only the people you share something with. Access rules are enforced inside the database itself, not merely in the app, so someone who is not on your tab cannot read it even if they go looking.

Who it is shared with

Your data is not sold, rented, or handed to advertisers. Two companies handle it on our behalf, and only in order to make the app work:

Deleting your account

In the app: Profile → Delete account. Your login, your name, your username and your payment usernames are removed straight away and cannot be recovered.

Expenses you were part of stay on other people’s bills, under “Deleted user”. This is deliberate. Your share of a bill is also somebody else’s record of what they were owed, and removing it would quietly change what your friends owe each other on a trip they had already settled. Nothing that identifies you remains attached to it.

If you would rather someone did it for you, email [email protected].

Children

Splitz is not intended for anyone under 13.
